Azerbaijan plans to complete production of over 10 documentary, feature and cartoon films in 2012, according to Yusif Sheikhov, Cinematorgraphy department official of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan.
Sheikhov noted that the production of these films expands beyond Azerbaijan, to such countries as Germany, Georgia, Turkey, Russia and others.
Some feature films are also in production with joint collaboration with Spain. Sheikhow added, that one of these feature films is about Azerbaijani jazz.
“This year, the work on four short films directed by young directors, winners of a local cinema contest, will be completed,” Sheikhovv said. “Another cinema contest will start at the beginning of next year.”
Sheikhov added that the production of a 3D animation movie “Cyclops” has been delayed due to technical reasons. The production will be wrapped up before the Winter of 2012.
