Eric Roberts to star in “Human Centipede 3″

eric-robertsEric Roberts is anything but lazy. He has been doing low-budget movies, straight to dvd movies, and other films non stop. Which is good, of course.

Now it seems like Roberts will be seen in the upcoming horror flick “Human Centipede 3″. Production on the film has already begun in Los Angeles.

The Human Centipede franchise has never really been about selling itself with recognizable acting talent. So it’s an interesting development that the third film has added an Academy Award-nominated performer.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Eric Roberts has been confirmed to star in Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence).

He is the fourth actor to be announced for the project, as it was previously revealed that Laser, The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)’s Laurence R. Harvey, and writer-director Tom Six will all be playing roles in the film as well.

The article doesn’t specify any details about the character that Roberts will be playing in the movie, and at this time there aren’t any plot details available, but it has been said that this time around we will be seeing a Human Centipede made from 500 people (if you’re unfamiliar with the franchise and don’t know what this means, basically it’s a chain of people connected mouth-to-anus in order to create a single digestive system).

Roberts’ most notable role in the last few years was his performance as Sal Maroni in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, and Sylvester Stallone’s “Expendables”, but he has actually kept extremely busy since, mostly taking roles in smaller and direct-to-video films.

Later this year should see him back in theaters in Lovelace, the Linda Lovelace biopic starring Amanda Seyfried that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
