Gerard Depardieu wraps up shooting film in Russia’s Chechnya – VIDEO

viktor-2014-gerard-depardieuLegendary French actor Gerard Depardieu has wrapped up shooting his latest film “Victor” in Russia’s Chechnya.

“We’ve watched the film along with the director and producer, and it ws good,” Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on his Instagram.

Chechnya’s president expressed hope that the film will be a success, and added that the “good beats evil in the end, as it should be”.

The story of the film follows Victor Lambert (Depardieu), who spent the last 7 years in jail for an art heist, and now he returns to Moscow to uncover the circumstances behind his son Jeremy’s brutal murder. He’s supported by his former lover Alexandra (Elizabeth Hurley) and ex-crime partner Souliman (Eli Danker). Lambert is a man with a broken heart who embarks on a ruthless war–a manhunt in the Moscow night– to avenge the death of his son who was killed by diamond smugglers.

IMDb lists the budget of the film at $10 million. “Victor” is directed by Philippe Martinez.
