India set to host its only digital film festival

India is all set to host it’s only digital film festival UFO 0110 International Digital Film Festival in Delhi in the upcoming months, according to Daily News and Analysis.

The festival aims to provide a platform for amateur filmmakers to showcase their talent.

The event is annual, and it showcases cutting edge digital films from around the world, aiming to take the digital art and film movement forward.

It also provides fresh and innovative content to the viewers and creates a space for new styles of form and content that can become the resource pool for filmmakers in South Asia and the rest of the world.

The festival has a one-of-its-kind competition, ‘Film in Six Days’, which will present a challenge to young film makers to direct a short film in the brief span of six days.

“The competition is our way to help budding filmmakers get a chance to make films that showcase their talent and also be a learning experience. The teams will also have access to established filmmakers,” Festival director, Madhureeta Anand says.

“Digital format of film making gives you the freedom to make a movie, while overcoming the constraints of inadequate funding. It is a wonderful medium for independent voices,” adds director Sudhir Mishra, who is also a jury member at the festival.
