Isaac Florentine says “way too early” to talk about Ninja 2

ninja-2Earlier this month, new updates have come up regarding another action film collaboration between rising martial arts actor Scott Adkins and director Isaac Florentine.

The duo that brought us such memorable action films as “Undisputed 2”, “Undisputed 3”, and “Ninja”, are reportedly set to team up for sequel to Florentine’s “Ninja”.

Florentine himself has not yet revealed any details about “Ninja 2”.

“Let’s wait until I am more into production. It’s still way too early,” Florentine told BZFilm.

In the first film, Scott Adkins starred as “Casey Bowman”, the American Ninja who must protect the ancient armor of the last Koga Ninja in New York from a high-tech rogue Ninja.

In the second film, fans of the genre could expect some fantastic action, as Adkins would (probably) be going up against Kane Kosugi (yes, the son of the legendary Sho Kosugi).

Kosugi should fit in well with Florentine’s style of directing, and “Ninja 2”, which is set to begin production in January in Thailand’s Bangkok, has been set for release sometime in 2013.

Story of “Ninja 2” follows Casey Bowman (Adkins), whos life of domestic bliss is shattered by a savage act of violence. Vowing revenge, Bowman tracks the killer from Osaka to Bangkok to Rangoon with the help of a wise and crafty sensei.

Fighting to avenge as well as to survive, Bowman must sharpen his razor-like responses to face his target: sinister drug lord Goro, who is flooding the streets with deadly meth cooked at his remote jungle factory.

Reportedly, Florentine’s crew for “Ninja 2” would include cinematographer Ross Clarkson, screenwriter David N. White (Undisputed 2-3), and Chinese-Swedish martial artist Tim Man (Ong Bak 2).
