Martial artist Jerry Trimble recalls how he nailed part in Michael Mann’s “Heat”

trimble-3Former 2-time World Kickboxing Champion, stuntman and actor Jerry Trimble briefly shared his thoughts on how to take your career into your own hands.

In particular, he recalled how he nailed a part in Michael Mann’s thriller “Heat”, with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer.

“In 1995 my film career took a turn out of the B action genre and into A List films. I took matters into my own hands, phoned casting at Warner Brothers and got an audition with casting director, Bonnie Timmerman,” Trimble wrote on his FB page.

It should be noted that Trimble, before “Heat” has appeared in low-budget martial arts flicks, which are still appreciated by the genre fans today.

“I nailed the audition, met with Michael Mann and booked the role of Detective Schwartz in “Heat” – Nothing is impossible to a willing mind,” he said.

“If you want something bad enough, go after It. You create your own reality. Don’t let someone else do it for you. Be one of those people who make things happen. No excuses!”.
