Mixing it up: 21 films you should see in 2018

top-movies-2018

The 2017 ends rich with a lot of great movies being released. With its ups and downs, the film industry continues to go strong into 2018. And the 2018 has a lot stored for movie fans.

Since we can’t cover every upcoming release, we selected a mix – something for everyone. Just like a perfect BlackJack game, we present you with 21 movies that you should watch out for in 2018.

THE LIST

Deadpool 2 – The first Deadpool turned out to be huge success, instantly turning Ryan Reynolds into Wade Wilson – now it is hard to imagine anyone else as Deadpool.

Ocean’s 8 – Yes, there’s no mistake with the number in the title. Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Still not convinced? The film stars Rihanna.

The Purge: The Island – The idea of the Purge was gross, frightening, but super entertaining. The film will be a prequel that will focus on the events that lead up to the very first Purge event.

Ant-Man and the Wasp – follows Ant-Man (2015), which absorbed over $500 million worth of grosses worldwide. The smallest superhero looks bigger than ever. Along with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, the sequel will have Michelle Pfeiffer and Lawrence Fishburne.

M:I 6 – Mission Impossible – There is a saying that Tom Cruise hasn’t made a bad film in 25-30 years. Considering the cast, this one doesn’t sound like a possible box office flop.

The Predator – The original Predator (1987) is easily one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. Every other predator film is at least watchable. The Predator (2018) is presented as a “sequel” to the original film.

The Equalizer 2 – The first Equalizer film was all about Denzel Washington’s character. Plus – it had a great villain. Since Antoine Fuqua returns for the sequel, along with Washington, all we hope for is a strong antagonist!

Scarface – Not much of info on the film just yet, but a lot of people remember the DePalma-Pacino version of 1983. Most likely, this film won’t surpass it, but it’s worth to see how the project develops.

Robin Hood – We’ve had both cartoons and films on this classic tale. Since a lot of people have forgotten the Kevin Costner version, we’re waiting for 2018, to check out the new one.

Halloween (2018) – Halloween… one of the most famous horror movies ever made. A classic. Next year, we’re going to have Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) face off with Michael Myers one last time. Make your bets!

Jungle Book: Origins – The Jungle Book of 2016, directed by Jon Favreau was a box office success. Two years later, we get another “Jungle Book” story. If you’re a fan of the book, you should watch out for this one.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix – A superhero film based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men characters. This will be the 13th installment in the X-Men film series, and the beginning of a new X-Men trilogy.

Holmes & Watson – Sherlock Holmes and Mr. Watson were supposed to be anything but funny. Until now. This upcoming film is a humorous take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries.

Aquaman – is hitting the theaters in 2018. Aquaman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, as well as Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard.

Bumblebee – Considered by some the most popular of the “Transformers”, Bumblebee gets his own film here – a spin-off, as well as a prequel tale to the Transformers films.

Fifty Shades Freed – The third installment of the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trilogy. The first film wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, the second one was a big letdown, so its up to you as far as the third one goes.

Death Wish – Obviously, Bruce Willis doesn’t aim to surpass the Charles Bronson classic revenge/vigilante tale, but if there is one film that needed a reboot, a fresh take – it’s Death Wish. Hopefully, it won’t disappoint.

Mary Magdalene – The story of Mary Magdalene. Considering the sensitivity of this religious subject, it would be interesting to see what direction the film will take us.

Tomb Raider – It was just a matter of time before Hollywood decided to reboot “Tomb Raider”. Of course, Angelina Jolie isn’t portraying Lara Croft here, instead we have Swedish beauty Alicia Vikander. Judging from the synopsis, the new “Tomb Raider” promises  to be completely different from the 2003 film.

Rampage – from football to WWE to the movies – Dwayne Johnson has become one of the highest paid and most famous stars in Hollywood. Here he leads the way in the take on the classic 1980s video game featuring apes and monsters destroying cities. Johnson, giant monsters, destruction, what’s not to like?
