Post-apocalyptic thriller is being shot in Latvia

A post-apocalyptic film titled “Danae” is being shot in Latvia. The film is based on the Naura Kotayami nove “Shigatsu”.

Story of the film has “Danae” establishing contact with supernatural powers, and this almost leads to a world catastrophe. The end seems near, and the lead hero has to figure something out to stop it.

Director and screenwriter Yuri Antonov started working on the film back in December 2011 in Latvia. Actor Vladimir Kozinda and director Yuri Shvants are the producers of the movie.

The creators plan to release the film by the end of 2012, and on January 26, a press-conference with the director and producer of the film is expected to be held.

The film is planned to be shown at the Bangkok International Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale Film Festival, New York Film Festival, Venice Film Festival and others.
