Russian documentary filmmakers and Canadian cartoonist to shoot a joint feature film

Russian documentary filmmakers and Canadian cartoonist are set to make a joint feature film, according to Cinemotion.

Media group “Peace and War” and Canadian “Northern Town Films” started working on a film project titled “A Long Way Around”.

The film tells a story of a Russian female immigrant, who, in the 1920’s, decided to illegally return to Russia from Canada, through the Bering Strait.

Filming locations in both Russia and Canada will be used in the film, with support from Astral Media / Harold Greenburg fund.

From the Canadian side, the working crew will be guided by producer-director-screenwriter Daniel Yanke (winner of the American Indian Film Festival, World Indigenous Film Awards in “best animation project” category”).
