Van Damme to “lose memory” in his next action film

van-damme-villainThe Exchange has signed on to handle worldwide sales on action title “Swelter” starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Catalina Sandino Moreno, Screen Daily reported.

Principal photography is scheduled to commence at the end of the month on the story about a former bank robber who becomes a sheriff with no memory of his past life when his ex-gang members turn up demanding money.

Keith Parmer will direct “Swelter” and Eleonore Dailly produces.

According to Variety, the story of “Swelter” centers on a gang that steals about $100 million a casino in Las Vegas. Ten years later, the gang escapes from prison and goes after their former accomplice and the remaining stolen money.

Lennie James and Josh Henderson also star and the producers expect to announce additional cast shortly.

”Swelter is a bullseye in terms of what the international market desires – proven stars in an action-packed film at the right price point,” said The Exchange’s Brian O’Shea.

Van Damme has recently came back to the theaters with action blockbuster “The Expendables 2″, later followed by ” Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning”, “U.F.O.”, “Six Bullets” and “Enemies Closer”, which has wrapped post-production.
