“Zombieland” TV series not given green light by Amazon

zombieland-tv-seriesThe “Zombieland” TV series that was recently launched by Amazon on their site for free, will not continue, as one of the writers of the series said on Twitter.

“Our Zombieland series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved,” Rhett Reese said. “Anyway, we did our best, and we’re very proud of our team.”

“I’ll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence,” he noted.

While the pilot didn’t get great reviews, there was a lot of criticism from the get go from fans before production had even begun.

Much of that criticism came from Reese and Wernick’s decision to use the same characters they had created that we met in the film, memorably played by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin.

Reese and Wernick had always wanted Zombieland to be a TV series, which was how they first conceived of the project a decade ago, before being asked to rewrite it as a film, IGN reported.

Reese made it clear he felt it was the fan reaction that led to the project being halted, saying it completely surprised him.

Quite soon the CGI will become so good, that filmmakers will be able to "revive" long deceased stars. Your thoughts?
