China International Cartoon and Animation Festival to Screen Iran’s animation films

china-international-cartoon-animation-festivalTwo Iranian animation films have been selected to compete in the 9th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF) in Hangzhou, Press TV website reported.

The Fox Who Followed the Sound by Fatemeh Goudarzi and Mammy Crow and the Fox by Mohammad Ali Soleimanzadeh are to contend for the Golden Monkey King Award of the festival.

The Fox who followed the Sound depicts a jungle filled with the sound of music. One day when the sound is not heard, the story chronicles a fox that begins to search for the source of the music and why it has been stopped.

Goudarzi’s animation has been screened at the Cine Junior 2013 Dossier De Presse in the French capital, Paris.

Mammy Crow and the Fox revolves around a Mammy Crow who is always threatened by a fox. The Mommy has to provide the fox with his many requests every day and if she does not supply, the fox will eat her chickens.

Some 56 productions selected from among 700 submitted works will compete at this year’s Hangzhou festival.

The 9th edition of Hangzhou Cartoon and Animation Festival kicked off on April 26 and will run until May 1, 2013.
