fajr-film-festivalIran will hold 3rd “Hollywoodism” and 31st “Fajr” film festivals, which will be held in Iran’s capital of Tehran, according to Iranian media outlets.

Fajr fim Festival is considered Iran’s most prominent film presentation and competition.

The 30th Fajr International Film Festival promoting the motto “Morality, Awareness and Hope” was inaugurated during a ceremony at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall in 2012.

It has been planned to hold the Fajr film festival from January 31 to February 10, and Hollywoodism festival on February 2-7, 2013.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the annual event is comprised of two competitive sections as well as two non-competitive categories in which domestic and international filmmakers, cinematographers, critical analysts, thinkers and art experts participate.

The “Hollywoodism” festival aims to find mechanisms to confront Israeli and Hollywood-dominated cinema which make anti-Iran and anti-Islam films.

The festival is to review new western film such as “Dictator”, “2012”, “300”, “Argo”, “Jerusalem” and other films.

Many screen productions in different genres from various countries across the globe were submitted to the International Cinema competitions section of last year’s edition.

The first Hollywoodism and Cinema conference was held in 2011, covering a variety of rather controversial subjects such as War, Terrorism and Hollywood, Hollywood and Satanism and American Life Style in Hollywood.
