“Week of Kazakh cinema” opens in Kyrgyzstan

Yesterday on August 15, cinema theater in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) hosted the opening of the “Week of Kazakh cinema in Kyrgyzstan”, local media outlets reported.

The “Week of Kazakh cinema in Kyrgyzstan” is being hosted within the framework of “Days of Kazakhstan in Kyrgyzstan”, devoted to the 20 years since establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Various officials from both countries attended the opening ceremony.

The Kazakh ambassador to Kyrgyzstan noted that today the fraternal peoples of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are reviving the glorious traditions of cultural and spiritual enrichment.

The ambassador also noted that modern Kazakh cinema holds leading positions not only in the region, but on the world stage as well.

He added that these achievements are confirmed by numerous prizes and awards won at international film festivals.

The ambassador expressed hope that the “Week of Kazakh cinema in Kyrgyzstan” will serve to further strengthen the Kazakh-Kyrgyz friendship and good neighborliness.

After the official ceremony a film “Sky of my childhood”, devoted to the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was demonstrated.
