Ancient alien theory takes shape in new film

A lot of scientists and analysts have claimed through the years that extraterrestrials with superior knowledge of science and engineering landed on Earth thousands of years ago, sharing their expertise with early civilizations and forever changing the course of human history.

Ancient alien theory grew out of the centuries-old idea that life exists on other planets, and that humans and extraterrestrials have crossed paths before.

The theme of human-alien interaction was thrust into the spotlight in the 1960s, driven by a wave of UFO sightings and popular films like 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Aside from 2001: A Space Odyssey, there were a lot of movies exploiting the topic of ancient aliens visiting Earth, and there’s a new one coming from director, executive producer Dan O’Connor.

“Zedic and the Crimson Born” is a short film made by O’Connor, who later plans to turn it into a full feature intelligent science fiction film which starts out in New York.

“I was looking for my next acting part and realized I was only interested in doing something sci-fi. So I decided to create my first short film as an experiment based on my fascination with ancient alien theories,” O’Connor told BZFilm.

Speaking of his short film “Zedic and the Crimson Born”, O’Connor admitted that this was mostly a learning experience for him.

“The main point was to introduce a larger story for a feature film,” O’Connor said. “Despite it being something like a “C-movie”, I was invited to screen the film at the World Science Fiction Convention in 2013.”

O’Connor noted that he, and his writer Karen Buckton are currently working on a full-length script, that could later be of interest to producers and directors.

“Zedic and the Crimson Born” is a story about a young man, who soon realizes he has psychic powers, and an alien named Zedic tells him that he’s one of a select group of hybrid beings created with an element of artificial alien DNA. As a result, the young man soon realizes that he is the first alien-human hybrid leader of the new generation.

The movie concept is based on the premise that Earth has been visited many times by the Yetra species during human civilization, including thousands of years ago during the period of giant monoliths and hundreds of years ago during the cultural Renaissance.

The film itself does not reveal much, despite monologues by Zedic, yet it is clear that there is a lot of room for developing the story for a full-feature film, which can go in pretty much any direction.

O’Connor’s aliens in the story have decided that they must incorporate some of their own DNA into that of selected humans to advance Homo sapiens to a higher level of consciousness, and by creating the hybrids to protect humans from themselves and the entire universe as well.

Revealing more details about the aliens in his story, O’Connor said that their alien intellect is combined with empathic and telepathic powers, as a result of which, this alien race is hyper altruistic.

“I see a series of features here. The first will reveal the nature of these manipulative inter-dimensional entities in terms of humans’ historical understanding of them. The story will also introduce an alliance of 4 alien races,” O’Connor told BZFilm.

O’Connor underscored that he wants to create an epic type of story with a spiritual message explained in scientific terms.

One thing is refreshing for sure – after thousands of low-budget “alien movies” that portray aliens attacking Earth with an intention to enslave the human race, if O’Connor is able to make an intelligent sci-fi film with a spiritual message, it could really be interesting.

Quite soon the CGI will become so good, that filmmakers will be able to "revive" long deceased stars. Your thoughts?
