WATCH ONLINE: Iran – Yesterday and Today (2009)

Richard “Rick” Steves is an American author and television personality focusing on European travel.

In this video however, Rick travels to Iran, a country mostly unknown to a wide range of Westerners (including Steves, as he admits in the film), and yet right now Iran is one of the biggest news trends.

The film was shot in 2009, yet for those unaware, this documentary is a good chance to see what Iran looks like.

Of course, before going there, Steves and his crew had to get permission from the Iranian Government, so don’t expect to see any negativity in this documentary (such as Iran’s human rights issues, death executions, nuclear program, etc).

Steves travels to several destinations all over Iran (Tehran (capital) – Abyaneh – Esfahan – Shiraz – Persepolis), and talks about country’s culture, its people, and history.

Iranian government believes the Western media has given Iran an unfair image, so this documentary can be seen from the “fair” point of view.

Quite soon the CGI will become so good, that filmmakers will be able to "revive" long deceased stars. Your thoughts?
